IFS Technical / Solution Architect

The port management company is undertaking a large-scale AI transformation initiative to modernize port operations and back-office functions. The client uses IFS as its core ERP platform, with significant customizations and integrations to support its business operations.

We are seeking an experienced IFS Technical / Solution Architect to provide technical expertise in solution design, system architecture, and AI integration. The consultant will initially support the design and solutioning phase, with the potential to extend into a longer-term implementation engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assess the existing IFS platform, including its customized architecture, configurations, and integrations.
• Provide technical guidance on integrating AI solutions, applications, and AI agents with IFS.
• Design technical architectures and integration approaches to support AI transformation initiatives.
• Evaluate IFS APIs, integration capabilities, and technical requirements for connecting AI applications with existing systems.
• Identify technical challenges, system limitations, dependencies, and implementation risks.
• Support solution design, technical feasibility assessments, and effort estimation.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities to leverage AI across port operations and back-office functions.
• Potentially support the development and implementation of AI pilots, MVPs, and enterprise-scale solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technical experience with the IFS platform.
• Strong background in technical architecture, solution architecture, software development, or systems integration (required).
• Experience with IFS APIs, integrations, configurations, or custom development (required).
• Ability to understand IFS at the technical and code level, beyond end-user functionality.
• Experience designing enterprise system integrations and addressing complex technical challenges.
• Experience integrating AI solutions, AI agents, or other applications with enterprise systems (preferred).
• Experience in port operations, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries (preferred).
• Broader enterprise architecture and large-scale digital transformation experience is a plus.

Start: ASAP

Duration: ~ 4 weeks initially, with potential for a 3–6+ month implementation extension

Time Commitment: 5 days per week

Expected range: US$175 - US$200 per hour

Location: Primarily remote, with potential for 1–2 in-person meetings and occasional international travel
