POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an R&D senior engineer for Thin Film Laboratory at Electronics Technology China Center (ETCC) located in Shanghai. ETCC is an integrated technology center with process technology, analytical technology, and application capabilities that serves the semiconductor customers in China. Thin film materials research and development at ETCC focus on chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and atomic layer deposition (ALD) precursors as well as spin on dielectric (SOD) materials. The person will actively participate in lab operation and management for material processing and application development. He or she will interact and collaborate with other R&D team and commercial team, building alignments and ensuring execution on projects.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead R&D projects for thin film materials development. Conduct experiments, collect data, optimize process parameters and complete R&D reports.
• Fulfill materials processing, sampling, analysis and application demo requests from customers.
• Develop system operation and troubleshooting procedures. Maintain equipment performance and establish quality standards. Conduct continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
• Provide technical support to commercial teams. Develop and maintain relationships with internal global labs.
• Enable cross sharing of learning, insight and experience between team members.
• Participate in intellectual property development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ph.D in chemical engineering/material science/chemistry/electronics or relevant fields, 1+ years of working experience related to chemical/semiconductor industry OR MS in chemical engineering/materials science/chemistry/electronics or relevant fields, 3+ years of working experience related to chemical/semiconductor industry.
• In-depth understanding of chemical reaction and process. Solid knowledge and experience on material handling and equipment operation for one or more domains, including synthesis, purification, sampling, formulating, analysis, etc. Relevant experience on thin film deposition materials is a plus.
• Demonstrate creativity and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate resource, lead project independently, and complete RD report.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills that support a diverse, cross-functional, multicultural team environment.
• Effective English skills (verbal and written) for internal communication.
• Flexibility for domestic and international traveling.
