🚀 I’m looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Databricks Consultant – Amsterdam

I’m currently supporting a client in Amsterdam who is strengthening their data team and exploring the addition of a senior, hands‑on expert to help secure and evolve a critical data platform during an important transition phase.

This is a high‑impact role combining technical leadership, platform stability, and long‑term knowledge transfer.

⏳ Assignement expected to run until the end of 2026, full‑time (40h/week)

🎯 Your mission

• Take ownership of key technical responsibilities from departing team members

• Lead a Databricks implementation (architecture, setup, and best practices)

• Ensure the day‑to‑day stability and operational continuity of the data platform

• Identify gaps and help refine — or potentially split — the role going forward

• Support the recruitment and onboarding of a long‑term hire

• Gradually transition into a backup / support role once the new hire is in place

🧠 Your expertise

Ideally, you are a hybrid senior profile, comfortable across both build and run activities.

Core experience ✅ Azure Data Platform components:

• Azure Data Lake Storage

• Azure Data Factory

• Azure Databricks

• Azure SQL

✅ Cloud‑based data pipelines & infrastructure
✅ Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Terraform)
✅ DevOps principles & CI/CD
✅ Python
✅ Agile / Scrum environments

Depending on your focus

• Databricks implementation (Azure Databricks, Terraform)

• Day‑to‑day platform operations (ADLS, ADF, Azure SQL, ARM)
