Immediate Opening for Middleware Engineer

We have an Immediate Opening Middleware Engineer with our reputed Client.

Client Location Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

Role Purpose

Support the assessment, installation, configuration, migration, testing, and operational handover of enterprise middleware platforms for the Maybank Application Migration Services programme. Collaborate with application, database, infrastructure, network, security, testing, and project teams to deliver secure and reliable migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess middleware platforms, configurations, integrations, dependencies, capacity, and migration readiness.
• Gather source- and target-environment requirements covering operating systems, databases, networks, security, clustering, storage, and applications.
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and administer middleware and application-server platforms.
• Prepare build documents, migration runbooks, validation checklists, rollback procedures, and operational handover materials.
• Perform health checks, configuration backups, log reviews, readiness assessments, and dependency validation.
• Support middleware migration, re-platforming, application deployment, environment configuration, and integration activities.
• Execute service shutdown, start-up, deployment, testing, and post-migration verification during cutover.
• Validate application connectivity, interfaces, messaging, clustering, failover, monitoring, security, and performance.
• Troubleshoot middleware, deployment, integration, connectivity, and performance issues.
• Support SIT, UAT, operational acceptance, disaster-recovery, resilience, and failover testing.
• Participate in migration rehearsals, cutovers, command-centre activities, rollback, hypercare, and stabilization.
• Apply security hardening and comply with Maybank controls, BNM RMiT, PDPA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001 requirements.
• Maintain configuration records, test evidence, migration logs, incident records, CMDB updates, and validation reports.
• Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions and formally hand over services to operational support teams.

Experience and Skills

• More than five years of middleware engineering, administration, migration, or production-support experience.
• Strong experience with Red Hat JBoss or equivalent enterprise middleware and application-server platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge of installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, clustering, deployment, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Windows/Linux, databases, networking, load balancing, security, high availability, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Experience across discovery, design, build, testing, cutover, stabilization, and handover.
• Strong technical documentation, problem-solving, stakeholder coordination, and production-change skills.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with Ansible and Python is advantageous.

Preferred Certifications

• IBM Certified Red Hat JBoss Middleware Engineer or equivalent.
• Red Hat System Administrator or Engineer.
• Ansible certification or equivalent.
• ITIL Foundation.
