• Allowances : As per Malaysia HR Policy
• Contract Type : 12 Months, Renewable
• Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Work Mode : Hybrid

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced WAN Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise-wide Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure within a highly secure and regulated banking environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in MPLS, SD-WAN, routing technologies, network security, cloud connectivity, and carrier management.

This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, security, performance, and resilience of network connectivity across branches, data centres, disaster recovery sites, cloud environments, and third-party financial service providers.

Key Responsibilities

WAN Infrastructure Management

• Design, implement, and support enterprise WAN solutions across banking locations.
• Manage MPLS, Internet, SD-WAN, and hybrid network connectivity.
• Monitor WAN performance, availability, utilisation, and capacity planning.
• Ensure optimal routing and efficient traffic flow across the enterprise network.
• Perform network upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.

Routing & Switching

• Configure and maintain routing protocols including:
• BGP
• OSPF
• EIGRP
• Static Routing
• Troubleshoot routing, latency, packet loss, and performance issues.
• Support enterprise LAN/WAN integration and inter-site connectivity.
• Manage WAN optimisation technologies.

SD-WAN & Cloud Connectivity

• Deploy and administer SD-WAN platforms such as:
• Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)
• VMware VeloCloud
• Fortinet Secure SD-WAN
• Versa Networks
• Support cloud connectivity with:
• Microsoft Azure
• AWS
• Google Cloud
• Implement direct cloud access and branch connectivity solutions.

Network Security

• Implement secure WAN connectivity using:
• IPSec VPN
• SSL VPN
• Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)
• Collaborate with security teams on:
• Network segmentation
• Firewall policies
• Threat mitigation
• Regulatory compliance
• Support secure connectivity for banking applications and payment systems.

Operations & Support

• Provide L2/L3 technical support for critical WAN infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis for network incidents.
• Participate in Major Incident Management and Problem Management processes.
• Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Ensure SLA compliance and service reliability.

Vendor & Carrier Management

• Coordinate with telecom providers and network vendors.
• Manage WAN circuit provisioning and escalation activities.
• Participate in carrier performance reviews and service improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Support DR exercises and failover testing.
• Ensure redundant WAN architecture for critical banking services.
• Validate recovery processes and network resiliency.

• Experience handling major incidents and change management activities.
