Immigration Solicitor

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Immigration Solicitor to join our busy Immigration team on a full-time, office-based basis.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload and provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients across a range of UK immigration matters. You will be expected to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team and maintaining excellent client service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of UK immigration matters from initial instruction through to completion.
• Provide accurate and commercially aware immigration advice to individuals and businesses.
• Handle applications including, where applicable:
• Skilled Worker visas
• Scale-up and other work routes
• Family and Partner visas
• Student and Graduate routes
• Visit visas
• British citizenship and settlement/ILR applications
• Further Leave to Remain and applications for extension of leave
• Administrative reviews and immigration appeals
• Human Rights and other complex immigration matters
• Prepare, review and submit applications and supporting documentation.
• Draft legal representations, witness statements and other correspondence.
• Liaise with clients, the Home Office, tribunals and other relevant bodies.
• Keep clients updated throughout their matter and provide clear, professional advice.
• Conduct appropriate legal research and remain up to date with changes in UK immigration law, rules and Home Office guidance.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records in accordance with firm procedures.
• Meet agreed deadlines, billing targets and departmental performance expectations.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with SRA requirements, the firm's policies and professional standards.
• Identify and develop opportunities for repeat business and client referrals where appropriate.

Requirements

• Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales with a current practising certificate.
• Demonstrable experience in UK Immigration law.
• Experience managing a caseload independently.
• Strong knowledge of the Immigration Rules and relevant Home Office procedures.
• Excellent legal drafting, research and analytical skills.
• Strong client-care and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to case management.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing individual responsibilities.

Desirable

• Experience in both personal and business immigration matters.
• Experience with immigration appeals and/or complex cases.
• Existing client or professional referral network.
• Experience working towards billing or fee-earning targets.
• Previous experience within a busy private-practice environment.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
