Import & Export Officer

Overall responsibilities and duties:

As an Import & Export Specialist, you will be responsible for managing import/export operations, customs compliance, and BOI activities to ensure smooth international trade processes and regulatory compliance. The role focuses on customs clearance, trade documentation, duty optimization, BOI privilege management, and maintaining compliance with Thai Customs and BOI regulations

• Manage and ensure compliance with import/export regulations, Thai Customs requirements, BOI regulations, FTAs, and international trade laws.
• Prepare, review, and maintain all import/export and BOI documentation, including invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, licenses, applications, and compliance records.
• Coordinate transportation, customs clearance, and shipment activities with freight forwarders, logistics providers, customs authorities, and relevant stakeholders.
• Handle customs and BOI transactions, including import/export declarations, machine import permits, raw material approvals, amendments, and privilege utilization.
• Classify goods using the correct HS/Tariff Codes and ensure proper duty calculation, customs valuation, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor BOI inventory balances and raw material reconciliation, ensuring accurate stock control and compliance with BOI promotion conditions.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports required by BOI, Customs, and internal management, including monthly and annual compliance reports.
• Support audits, inspections, and investigations conducted by BOI authorities, Customs, and internal or external auditors.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Warehouse, and Production to align trade compliance and operational requirements.
• Drive cost optimization and process improvement initiatives through duty savings, FTA utilization, logistics efficiency, SOP development, and continuous monitoring of regulatory changes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Minimum education level:  Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Business, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Customs Management, or a related field.

Experience:

• At least 2-5 years of experience in Import/Export, Customs Compliance, BOI operations, or International Trade within a manufacturing environment

Skills and competencies

• Strong knowledge of Thai Customs regulations, BOI requirements, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), and international trade compliance.
• Hands-on experience in customs clearance, import/export documentation, HS Code classification, duty calculation, and tariff regulations
• Experience managing BOI transactions, including promotion privileges, machine import approvals, raw material management, BOI reporting, and compliance activities.
• Experience in SAP
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with government authorities, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Thai,
