Import Assistant

Brief Job Description:

• Assist in checking and processing import documents from the suppliers.
• Coordinate with suppliers, shipping companies, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Monitor shipment arrivals/schedules and delivery status.
• Maintain accurate import records/monitoring and documentation.
• Assist in monitoring import costs, duties, taxes, and payment schedulesPrepare landed cost per shipment and process billings from brokers.
• Application of import permit per government agency concern.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management and Customs Administration, or a related field

Skills:

• Knowledge of import procedures, shipping processes, and customs documentation.
• Familiarity with all types of shipping documents and Incoterms
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of shipment tracking.
• Good data entry, filing, and record-keeping skills

Work Experience:

• Preferably with 1-2 years of experience in importation/logistics and/or supply chain operations.
• Experience handling imports documents and coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and Customs brokers is an advantage.
