IMPORTS COORDINATOR – Logistics and Administration

Sunrise Hardware and Garden Products is a well-established Australian import and wholesale business, proudly operating since 1983.

We are a major distributor of hardware, building supplies and garden products, servicing customers across Australia and New Zealand. With continued growth and more than 400 containers handled each year, we are seeking an experienced, organised and motivated Imports Coordinator to join our busy team at our Direk office.

About the Role

You will play an important role in coordinating our import and logistics functions, ensuring shipments are managed efficiently and information is accurate and up to date.

·         Booking, tracking and negotiating shipments with our freight forwarders.

·         Coordinating of shipping documentation, including customs clearance and commercial invoices.

·         Coordinating and tracking domestic and international shipments

·         Supporting ex-factory and supplier shipment bookings and collections

·         Liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders and shipping agents and other logistic providers.

·         Maintaining purchase order, shipment and delivery information within our ERP system and spreadsheets

·         Updating order summary reports and providing visibility of expected shipment dates and potential delays

·         Processing inventory receipts and ensuring stock is accurately recorded

·         Authorising supplier payments

·         Preparing shipment costing reports and assisting with freight cost analysis

·         Investigating and resolving shipment issues

·         Monitoring transit times and escalating potential supply chain risks

·         Providing regular updates to internal departments, including Finance, Planning, Warehouse and Sales

·         Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase the efficiency of our logistics function

·         Answering incoming phone calls and assisting with general administration as required

This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, offering the opportunity to become an integral part of a successful and growing Australian business.

• Qualifications or experience in shipping and export documentation are advantageous, but not essential.
