Import–Export Director

The Import–Export Director leads all end-to-end cross‑border logistics for the organization ensuring compliant, cost effective, and customer‑centric operation across all Business Units (BUs). This role establishes governance, manages shipment performance, drives continuous process improvement, and strengthens external partnerships across global logistics networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Policy, Compliance & Procedure Governance

   1.1 Establish and enforce Import/Export policies, standard operating procedures, and documentation standards for all BUs.
   1.2 Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs, free trade agreements, and internal audit requirements.
   1.3 Lead periodic audits and implement corrective actions.

2. Shipment & Cost Management

   2.1 Oversee all inbound/outbound shipment planning, execution, and delivery to ensure OTIF (On‑Time In‑Full) performance.
   2.2 Manage transportation, forwarding, and customs brokers to optimize cost per shipment and reduce logistics lead time.
   2.3 Develop cost-efficiency initiatives and negotiate contracts with carriers and logistics service providers.

3. Sale support & Process Improvement

   3.1 Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, and Planning teams to ensure logistics capability supports business needs.
   3.2 Improve end‑to‑end lead times, documentation cycle time, and visibility across shipment stages.
   3.3 Drive digitalization initiatives (EDI, track & trace, workflow automation).

4. Stakeholder & Network Management

   4.1 Build and manage strategic partnerships with forwarders, customs brokers, transporters, and government agencies.
   4.2 Lead problem resolution for shipment delays, compliance issues, or supply disruptions.
   4.3 Conduct supplier/vendor performance reviews with data‑driven scoring.
