Job Description – Manager, Import & Export

Company: COSMIQ Edusnap Private Limited

Location: Delhi

Department: Supply Chain / Commercial Operations

Position: Manager – Import & Export

Employment Type: Full-Time

About COSMIQ

COSMIQ Edusnap Private Limited is an education technology company focused on building intelligent, secure and scalable technology solutions for the K–12 education ecosystem. Our portfolio includes Interactive Flat Panel Displays (IFPDs), Android laptops, tablets, education software and integrated digital learning solutions.

As COSMIQ expands its product portfolio and supply chain, we are looking for an experienced Import & Export Manager to manage international sourcing logistics, import documentation, customs clearance, regulatory compliance and coordination with overseas suppliers and logistics partners.

Role Purpose

The Import & Export Manager will take end-to-end ownership of COSMIQ's import operations—from shipment planning with overseas vendors through freight, customs clearance and final delivery to the designated warehouse.

The role requires strong knowledge of Indian customs procedures, DGFT regulations, HS classification, import duties, BIS and product-specific regulatory requirements , along with commercial understanding of international freight and landed-cost optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

Import & Logistics Management

  • Manage end-to-end imports of electronics, components, accessories and related products.
  • Coordinate shipment schedules with overseas suppliers, particularly OEM/ODM manufacturing partners.
  • Manage air and sea freight , freight forwarders, CHA/customs brokers and logistics partners.
  • Track shipments from factory dispatch through customs clearance and warehouse delivery.
  • Evaluate FCL/LCL and air-freight options based on cost, volume and delivery requirements.
  • Negotiate freight, CHA, transportation and related logistics costs.

Customs & Documentation

  • Ensure accurate preparation and verification of Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/AWB, Certificate of Origin, Insurance documents and Bill of Entry .
  • Ensure correct HS/HSN classification, assessable value, Basic Customs Duty, SWS and IGST treatment.
  • Coordinate customs assessment, queries, examination and clearance.
  • Maintain complete shipment-wise import documentation and compliance records.
  • Work proactively to avoid demurrage, detention, documentation errors and clearance delays.

DGFT & Regulatory Compliance

  • Handle matters relating to DGFT, IEC and applicable import policies .
  • Coordinate regulatory compliance applicable to electronics and IT products, including BIS/CRS, WPC/ETA and other statutory requirements , wherever applicable.
  • Verify regulatory readiness before shipment to prevent goods being held at customs.
  • Monitor changes in import policy, customs notifications, duty structures and regulatory requirements affecting COSMIQ products.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants/agencies for certifications and approvals.

Supplier & Commercial Coordination

  • Coordinate with overseas suppliers on shipment readiness, documentation and dispatch schedules.
  • Validate shipping documents before goods leave the country of origin.
  • Work with Procurement, Product, Finance and Operations teams on purchase orders and shipment planning.
  • Monitor payment/shipping terms such as FOB, CIF, CFR, EXW and DDP and advise on commercially appropriate Incoterms.
  • Maintain shipment and vendor documentation for reconciliation and audit.

Landed Cost & MIS

  • Prepare shipment-wise landed-cost calculations covering product value, freight, insurance, customs duty, IGST, CHA and inland logistics.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce freight and import costs while maintaining compliance.
  • Maintain an Import Shipment Tracker covering ETD, ETA, customs status, clearance and warehouse delivery.
  • Provide management with periodic reports on shipments, landed cost, delays and exceptions.

Key Performance Indicators – KPIs

Performance will primarily be measured on:

  • On-time customs clearance and delivery
  • Accuracy of import documentation and HS classification
  • Zero/minimal demurrage and detention
  • Regulatory compliance with no avoidable shipment holds
  • Freight and landed-cost optimisation
  • Shipment visibility and timely MIS
  • Supplier/forwarder/CHA coordination effectiveness
  • Accuracy of estimated versus actual landed cost

Candidate Profile

Qualification: Graduate in Commerce, International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related discipline. MBA/PG qualification in International Business or Supply Chain will be an advantage.

Experience: Preferably 10-12 years of relevant experience in import/export, international logistics or supply-chain operations.

Experience in IT hardware, consumer electronics, displays, computing devices, telecom equipment or electronic components will be strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge & Skills

The candidate should have hands-on understanding of:

  • Indian Customs and import procedures
  • DGFT regulations and IEC
  • HS/HSN classification
  • Customs duty and landed-cost calculations
  • BIS/CRS and WPC/ETA processes
  • Import documentation
  • Air and sea freight
  • CHA and freight-forwarder management
  • Incoterms
  • Overseas supplier coordination
  • Advanced Excel and shipment MIS

The ideal candidate should be commercially sharp, highly detail-oriented and execution-driven , with the ability to independently identify compliance or documentation risks before they impact a shipment.

What Success Looks Like at COSMIQ

The Import & Export Manager should ensure that the right COSMIQ products reach India at the right time, at an optimised landed cost, with complete regulatory compliance and minimum operational dependency or delay.

This is a hands-on ownership role requiring the individual to manage the complete import cycle rather than only coordinate documentation through external agencies.
