Import/Export Agent

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Import/Export Agent to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will manage the end-to-end process of international shipments, ensuring compliance with trade regulations and optimizing transportation solutions. Your expertise will drive seamless freight movement, foster strong client relationships, and contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain operations. Duties

• Coordinate and oversee import and export shipments, ensuring adherence to international trade regulations and customs requirements
• Manage transportation planning and logistics for air freight, ocean freight (including NVOCC operations), and trucking services
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth operations
• Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers and vendors to optimize costs and service quality
• Utilize mulitple platforms to track shipments, generate quotes, and update clients
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, trade laws, and safety standards across all shipments
• Lead client communication efforts through inside sales activities, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues promptly

Requirements

• Minimum requirement High School diploma or GED
• Proven experience in international freight forwarding operations both Air and Ocean
• Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, and Microsoft Office tools
• Familiarity with international trade regulations, trade compliance procedures, and shipping logistics including international air and ocean freight
• Excellent negotiation skills coupled with a customer-focused approach to account management and client relationship management
• Ability to coordinate complex transportation planning activities across multiple carriers and 3PL providers
• Experience working with NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations is highly desirable
• Knowledge of FDA regulations related to international shipping is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in contracts, pricing strategies, lead generation efforts, and sales negotiation
• Effective communication skills for client interaction, inside sales initiatives, and team collaboration

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
