In-Home Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support to enhance comfort and independence
• Support seniors and individuals with disabilities through personalized caregiving tailored to their unique needs
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary requirements are met
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning client spaces to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
• Follow care plans meticulously, documenting all care provided and any changes in the client’s condition for accurate records
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive support that aligns with medical advice and client preferences

Qualifications

• Valid PSW certificate or equivalent recognized qualification
• Must be able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
• Valid CPR/AED certification
• Provide latest TB Screening
• Reliable transportation required
• Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable
• Demonstrated experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities, including dementia care
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
• Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to client needs
• Ability to perform cleaning tasks efficiently while maintaining hygiene standards
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professional

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

• Greater Toronto Area, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

• PSW Certificate (required)
• Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
• Valid CPR/AED certification (required)
• TB Screening (preferred)
