In-library Reading and Math Tutor

We are dedicated to providing equitable access to personalized learning, and we're seeking passionate individuals to join our team as an Elementary and/or Middle School In-library Reading and/or Math Tutors. Primary Function:

As an In-library Elementary and/or Reading and/or Math Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality one-on-one guided reading and math instruction to elementary-aged and/or middle-school students. Our tutors are not just educators; they are mentors who inspire confidence and foster a love for learning. You will be employed by L. A. B. Productions, Inc., our parent company.

Key Responsibilities:

● Provide personalized tutoring to students in the subject areas of deficiency, as identified by A+ Reading and Math Tutoring.

● Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by A+ Reading and Math Tutoring.

● Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to encourage student growth and success.

Schedule:

● Work flexible hours per week with a 1 tutor: 1 student ratio.

● Sessions will be conducted at a local library near you.

● No tutoring sessions on major holidays or Sundays.

● Some tutors may be assigned to more than one student, so flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

● Successful completion of a Background/Fingerprinting Screening.

● Completed at least 60 credit hours in a teacher education or related program.

● Availability to tutor for at least one hour per day during your specified availability.

● Experience teaching reading and/or math to students with deficiencies in a classroom setting is a strong advantage.

● A customer-friendly attitude with strong communication skills, both oral and written.

● Ability to effectively communicate with parents about students' progress.

● Bilingual skills (Spanish or Haitian Creole) are helpful but not mandatory.

● Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record and consistent access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance.

Compensation:

● Hourly rate of $20 per hour plus an additional $5 for 15 minutes of prep time, totaling $25 per session. Higher rates for tutoring some special needs students.

● Mileage reimbursement provided.
