In-Vehicle Network Software Developer

We are looking for an In-Vehicle Network Software Developer . You will build the tools, simulation models and KPIs behind network performance analysis for a next-generation electric vehicle architecture at a major automotive manufacturer. Your work turns complex network data into the insights that drive architectural decisions.

Engagement details:

• Location: Allen Park, Michigan
• Working model: Hybrid (4+ days on-site per week)
• Start date: ASAP
• Employment type: Full-time, Permanent or Freelance

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, composable software for in-vehicle network bandwidth analysis, message latency tracking and functional coupling measurement
• Research, define and implement KPIs for network modeling, performance analysis and change management
• Develop and maintain network simulation models for what-if analysis of new features and architectural changes
• Translate analysis results into clear reports and dashboards for architects, feature owners and leadership
• Integrate network analysis tools and KPIs into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous feedback on network health
• Work with Network Architects and Platform experts to validate architectural choices and support optimization efforts
• Set the standard for software quality, test-driven development and agile practices within the team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of software development in Python, C++ or Java, focused on data analysis, tool development or back-end systems
• Foundational knowledge of network architecture, protocols and communication standards (Ethernet, CAN, LIN)
• Experience developing analytical tools and defining KPIs to measure system performance
• Experience with test-driven development (e.g. Gherkin for executable specifications)
• Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of untangling complex systems
• Legally authorized to work in the United States (visa sponsorship not available)
• Nice to have: Master’s degree, network analysis and simulation tools, tools development for embedded systems
• Nice to have: Django and PostgreSQL, data science or machine learning, AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive, DBC and ARXML formats
