Independent Chef

We are Tong Fong, a world/Chinese/Indian restaurant located in Soest, and we are looking for an Independent Chef to strengthen our kitchen team. Do you have a passion for cooking and enjoy working in a dynamic kitchen environment? Then you might be the perfect fit for us! You will assist in preparing dishes and work closely with our kitchen team in a professional and organized setting.

Tasks

• Selecting and preparing ingredients (washing, cutting, mixing, etc.)
• Performing quality checks during preparation (doneness, taste, color) and adjusting where necessary
• Ensuring consistent quality and hygiene standards
• Supervising kitchen assistants and correcting where needed
• Managing inventory, ordering ingredients, and checking deliveries
• Cleaning the workspace, kitchen equipment, and stations daily
• Reporting technical issues and resolving minor malfunctions
• Contributing ideas for menu composition, updates, and preparation methods

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and take initiative with a problem-solving mindset
• Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
• MBO-3 level of thinking/working (if you don’t fully meet this, you are still encouraged to apply)
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
