Responsibilities

• Safely operate a range of passenger vehicles such as vans, limousines, shuttle buses, and personal delivery vans on local routes.
• Ensure compliance with all state transportation regulations and traffic laws during every trip.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, assisting with boarding and disembarking, and addressing any special needs or requests.
• Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to meet scheduled pick-up and drop-off times while optimizing routes for efficiency.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks, including inspecting tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels to ensure safety and reliability.
• Handle heavy lifting when loading or unloading cargo or luggage safely and securely.
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle condition reports for record-keeping purposes.

Experience

• Prior experience as a delivery driver or chauffeur is highly desirable; experience operating passenger vans or shuttle buses is a plus.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes enhances efficiency in route planning.
• Experience in medical transportation or paratransit services demonstrates adaptability to specialized client needs.
• Knowledge of manual handling techniques ensures safe loading/unloading procedures.
• Strong communication skills are essential for client interactions and coordination with dispatch or support teams.
• Understanding of vehicle maintenance routines helps in maintaining vehicle safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., commercial license for larger passenger vehicles) is required; adherence to all state transportation regulations is mandatory.
