Indirect Procurement Analyst

Position Summary

The role is responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and negotiating goods and services across specialized categories such as food, beverage, technical, and IT. This position requires a deep knowledge of commodity management to influence procurement decisions for complex and critical goods and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Researches and evaluates suppliers through both conventional and unconventional sources to ensure optimal sourcing.
• Develops and executes procurement and negotiation strategies based on market and operational variables.
• Conducts comprehensive pricing analyses and collaborates with suppliers to secure favorable terms, availability, and delivery schedules.
• Negotiates pricing, delivery logistics, and coordinates closely with Logistics on transportation and inventory requirements.
• Oversees supplier performance to maintain consistent service levels, cost control, and quality assurance.
• Operates independently within established guidelines, seeking guidance only for exceptional circumstances.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to junior team members (e.g., Buyer I, Buyer II) as needed.
• Travels occasionally for trade shows, supplier audits, or shipboard operations, including loading and repositioning activities.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of procurement or specialized technical experience required.
• Proven ability to manage procurement activities for high-value goods/services in fast-paced environments.

Technical/Functional Skills

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills with demonstrated success in cost savings.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to perform complex calculations and interpret business metrics such as discounts and percentages.
• Skilled in report writing, business correspondence, and manual documentation.
