Industrial Automation Field Service Engineer

Day-in-the-life

You start your morning reviewing the day’s service tickets and travel plan. By mid-morning, you’re on-site commissioning a newly installed piece of industrial equipment. After verifying proper operation, you shift to a scheduled preventive maintenance check on another line, catching a wear item before it causes downtime. The afternoon brings a troubleshooting call where you methodically track down an electro-mechanical fault, repair it, and walk the customer through what you found. Before you leave, you document the work performed and confirm the machine is back in spec.

What you’ll do

• Install and commission new machinery, perform preventive maintenance, and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues.
• Respond to customer site calls for repairs and troubleshooting, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
• Communicate status and findings directly with the customer and create clear, accurate service reports.

What you’ll bring

• Technical/Associate’s degree or certificate in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Automation, CNC/Machining, or Mechanical Technology.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid grasp of how complex machinery operates.
• Foundational electrical and mechanical theory with practical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfort with weekday travel (Monday–Friday) to customer locations.
