What they need

Location: Blair, NE, with nationwide travel
Pay: $18–$50 per hour, depending on experience
Job type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40–60 per week

Start a technical career—or bring your experience to a growing team.

K Logix Talent is recruiting for a Blair-based industrial automation and controls company seeking both entry-level technicians willing to learn and experienced senior technicians.

If you have technical schooling, mechanical or electrical aptitude, or hands-on maintenance experience, this could be an opportunity to develop specialized skills. Training is available—you do not need experience with every system listed below.

Already experienced with industrial controls, instrumentation, boilers, or burners? The company is also looking for a senior technician who can bring strong troubleshooting and service skills.

Nationwide travel is required

Travel availability is a key requirement of this position. You should expect trips throughout the United States, typically lasting one week and sometimes up to two weeks away from home.

There is also local work in the Blair/Omaha area. Candidates must be able to report to Blair and meet the travel requirements.

What you’ll do

Depending on your experience and training, you will help:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial automation equipment and control systems.
  • Service boilers, burners, and related controls.
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and operator touchscreens (HMIs).
  • Calibrate instruments and repair equipment.
  • Perform control-loop tuning, field modifications, and efficiency testing.
  • Solve unfamiliar equipment problems and learn new systems.
  • Support service work at local and traveling customer locations.

Entry-level candidates: bring your aptitude and willingness to learn

We welcome applicants with relevant schooling, technical training, or practical experience. Potential backgrounds include:

  • Industrial automation, instrumentation, or mechatronics
  • Electrical technology or electronics
  • Industrial maintenance
  • HVAC or mechanical systems
  • Military technical maintenance
  • Other hands-on work involving equipment troubleshooting and repair

Recent technical-school graduates are encouraged to apply. Some familiarity with electrical, mechanical, or controls concepts is helpful, but extensive PLC or boiler experience is not required for someone joining as a trainee.

Experienced technicians: put your skills to work

We are also interested in experienced and senior candidates with proficiency in one or more of these areas:

  • Boiler and burner service
  • PLC troubleshooting or programming
  • HMI systems
  • Instrumentation and calibration
  • Process controls and loop tuning
  • SCADA and distributed control systems (DCS)
  • Industrial electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

Experience with Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, Emerson, Fireye, Ignition, or GE iFix is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide for one to two weeks at a time.
  • Ability and desire to learn unfamiliar equipment and systems.
  • Mechanical or electrical aptitude and a practical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Ability to commute to Blair, NE, or relocate before starting.

Preferred, but not required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of PLC experience
  • One year of mechanical experience

Applicants at all experience levels will be considered.

Pay, hours, and benefits

Pay: $18–$50 per hour, based on qualifications and experience. Entry-level and developing technicians will be considered within the range; the upper end is intended for highly experienced senior technicians.

Hours: Full-time, with an expected 40–60 hours per week. Candidates should be comfortable with weeks exceeding 40 hours and schedules that include travel.

Benefits include:

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible schedule
