Industrial Electrical Assistant

Fabtration is currently seeking an experience electrical assistant. The Industrial Electrical Assistant will support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of electrical systems across our steel fabrication facility. You will work directly under an industrial electrician to install electrical panels and provide solutions for all custom automated machinery, pump and filter systems, conveyours, and more. You will also be maintaining the function of overhead cranes, CNC plasma cutters, heavy welding machines, and all shop machinery. This role requires high spatial awareness, physical stamina, and a commitment to rigorous industrial safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy shop machinery including CNC plasma cutter, hydraulic presses, welding machines, and conveyors.
• Conduit & Raceway Installation: Measure, cut, bend, and thread heavy-wall Rigid Metal Conduit (RMC) and Liquid-Tight Flexible Metal COnduit along structural steel elements.
• Pull high-guage power cables and multi-conductor control wires through shop raceways, wirewyas, and junction boxes.
• Assist in mounting and securing electrical panels, control enclosures, disconnect switches, and motor starters directly onto steel structures.
• Strictly follow facility, machine lockout protocols, arc flash guidelines, and high-voltage safety boundary rules.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, clean electrical cabinents, organize specialized shop tools, and track electrical parts inventory.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing, construction, industrial machine shop, or steel fabrication environment.
• Proficiency with basic electrial hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers, multimeter) and fabrication equipment (angle grinders, portable band saws, drills).
• Ability to read and interpret basic industrial electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout shop drawings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long shifts, climb ladders or scaffolding, and work comfortably at elevated heights.
• Capability to work in a loud, dusty, and high-heat heavy industrial facility while wearing mandatory PPE (steel-toed boots and safety glasses).

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
