We’re proud to be Great Place to Work® certified—a reflection of our commitment to creating an environment where innovation thrives, and every voice matters. Apply today and be part of shaping the future with us! Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html Position Overview: Turn engineering plans into practical solutions that keep rail overhaul operations moving. As an Industrial Engineer with Siemens Mobility Customer Services, you’ll lead high-visibility assignments to analyze, develop, test, and implement procedures, technologies, and systems within a rail overhaul shop. As the primary link between Engineering and Production/Manufacturing, you’ll translate engineering drawings and technical documentation into clear, executable processes.
Bring your analytical skills and problem-solving mindset to improve how work gets done. You’ll evaluate workflows, operating conditions, and work environments to uncover opportunities that enhance customer value and team performance. Working independently, you’ll turn complex challenges into business process improvements and detailed technical solutions, delivering short- to medium-term results measured against established baselines. You may also provide hands-on guidance to operational staff and colleagues to help keep service delivery coordinated and effective.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead equipment and facility improvement projects from proposal through completion, managing targets, budgets, and resources to deliver operational improvements within scope.
- Troubleshoot and configure production equipment to resolve disruptions and maintain operational continuity.
- Conduct inspections and investigations, analyze manufacturing and logistics workflows, and implement performance measures and continuous improvement initiatives to identify inefficiencies and validate process gains.
- Develop and maintain production documentation and work instructions, and train manufacturing and maintenance personnel to promote consistent, accurate execution.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and service providers, monitoring performance and approving completed work to ensure services and deliverables meet project requirements.
- Support the specification, design, and procurement of tooling, jigs, fixtures, and equipment; manage production and test equipment ramp-up to enable new product launches and effective lifecycle support.
- Conduct time and motion studies and establish validated time standards to improve production planning and support accurate cost calculations.
- Create, update, and validate single-level and multi-level bills of material (BOMs) in SAP to maintain accurate material requirements for production.
This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role, but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs. To thrive in this role, you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the creation of work instructions, and technical writing,
- AutoCAD, Creo, or similar 2D/3D Modeling experience,
- Experience implementing measures such as DMAIC, VSM, and 5S initiatives,
- Familiarity with Six Sigma principles,
- Ability to travel 10%.
Candidates should be willing to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required or if applicable. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Purpose is the reason a company exists. It's not about making money or selling products - it's the deeper "why" behind everything we do. It answers the question: What problem are we solving? What positive change are we creating?
For Siemens, our purpose has been clear for over 175 years: We create technology to transform the everyday, for everyone. The world needs technologies that work. Technologies that matter. Technologies that solve today's challenges and help shape a better tomorrow. And that's exactly what we build. By bringing together the real world (factories, buildings, power grids, trains) with the digital world (software, data, AI, digital twins), we help our customers become more competitive, resilient, and sustainable.
Our technology is everywhere
- in trains and transportation, we help move people faster, safer, and more sustainably.
