Industrial Engineering Intern

About the role

Thai Toshiba Electric Industries Co., Ltd. is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Industrial Engineering Intern to join our engineering team on a contract basis. This internship is based in Mueang Nonthaburi, Nonthaburi and offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in industrial engineering whilst contributing to real-world projects within a leading electronics manufacturing organisation. This role will provide you with valuable exposure to industrial processes, operational efficiency improvements, and engineering problem-solving in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in analysing and optimising manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost reduction
• Support the development and implementation of process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Conduct time and motion studies to evaluate workflow efficiency and resource allocation
• Collect, analyse and document operational data to support engineering recommendations
• Collaborate with production teams to understand current processes and identify bottlenecks
• Participate in project planning and contribute to the design of solutions for operational challenges
• Support the preparation of technical reports and documentation related to process improvements
• Assist in testing and validating proposed engineering solutions in the manufacturing environment
• Learn and apply industrial engineering tools and methodologies under the guidance of experienced engineers

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree programme in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think systematically about complex processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data collection and analysis
• Eagerness to learn and develop practical engineering knowledge in a manufacturing setting
• Basic understanding of lean manufacturing, process optimisation, or quality improvement principles (desirable)
• Experience with industrial engineering software or simulation tools (desirable)
• Fluency in English and Thai languages would be advantageous
