Industrial Field Service Engineer - East Midlands/South East

Bizerba (UK) Ltd is recruiting an experienced Industrial Field Service Engineer to support retail equipment across the East Midlands and South East. This role ensures customer operations run smoothly by delivering timely field service, technical expertise and a customer-focused approach.

Purpose of the role

Provide on-site installation, maintenance and repair of weighing, labelling and checkout equipment for retail customers. Act as the principal technical representative for Bizerba at customer sites, resolving faults, advising on equipment performance and supporting service improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and complete on-site diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Install and commission new equipment following manufacturer procedures and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts usage and job documentation.
• Provide clear technical guidance to customers and colleagues, escalating complex faults as needed.
• Support continuous improvement by feeding back recurring issues and recommending solutions.
• Work safely and comply with health and safety policies while representing the company professionally.

Essential Skills And Experience

• Proven field service experience with industrial or retail equipment, including fault diagnosis and repair.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Good customer-facing communication and the ability to explain technical matters clearly.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across the East Midlands and South East.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and maintain service documentation.

Desirable Skills And Experience

• Experience with weighing, labelling or POS hardware and related software.
• Previous exposure to commissioning and calibration procedures.
• Basic network or IT knowledge relevant to connected retail devices.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification in electrical, mechanical or electronic disciplines is preferred.
• Manufacturer or industry-specific certifications are advantageous but not essential.
