Industrial Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Industrial Nurse to join Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Ipoh, Perak. As an Industrial Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting, protecting and maintaining the health and wellbeing of our workforce. You will be responsible for developing and implementing occupational health and safety programmes, providing emergency medical care, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within our industrial workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Provide immediate and ongoing medical care to employees who sustain injuries or become ill at the workplace
• Conduct health screening programmes, occupational health assessments and pre-employment medical examinations
• Develop, implement and monitor occupational health and safety policies, procedures and protocols
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all employees
• Conduct workplace health and safety audits, hazard assessments and risk evaluations
• Provide health education, training and awareness programmes to employees on workplace safety and disease prevention
• Collaborate with management, safety officers and external health professionals to promote a safe and healthy work environment
• Monitor and report on workplace injuries, illnesses and incidents; prepare accident reports and recommendations
• Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health and safety legislation and regulations
• Maintain medical supplies, equipment and facilities in the workplace health centre
• Provide counselling and support to employees regarding occupational health concerns

What we're looking for

• Current registration as a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the relevant regulatory body
• Certification or qualification in Occupational Health Nursing or Industrial Health (APC)
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in occupational health, industrial nursing or workplace health settings
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations and best practices
• Proficiency in conducting health assessments, health screenings and workplace hazard evaluations
• Excellent first aid and emergency medical response capabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive health information appropriately
• Competence in record-keeping, documentation and health information management
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Malay
• Computer literacy and experience with health management systems
