What they need

Title: Industrial Painter – Industrial Coatings & Blasting

Location: Central Wisconsin
Relocation Package: Available for the right long-term candidate
Industry: Industrial Painting, Blasting, and Surface Preparation

Job purpose: For Craftsmen Who Take Pride in the Finish

We are a business where coating quality, technical skill, and professional pride matter. We are hiring a seasoned Industrial Painter who understands that surface prep, coating selection, and application technique directly determine product performance, durability, and customer reputation.

This role is for painters who don’t cut corners, who understand coating systems, and who want to work in an operation that invests in the right equipment, the right processes, and the right people.

If you are the kind of painter who notices runs no one else sees, who checks mils without being told, and who wants to work where skill matters — you’ll fit here.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Precision Industrial Coating Application

  • Prepare and coat industrial equipment, fabricated steel, and production components to exact customer specifications.
  • Set up, dial in, and operate airless and pressure pot spray systems for consistent, repeatable finish quality.
  • Mix and adjust coatings to technical data sheets and environmental conditions.
  • Control mil thickness, finish appearance, adhesion quality, and cure performance.

Surface Prep & Blasting Excellence

  • Execute or support blasting prep, masking, cleaning, and surface conditioning required for coating performance.
  • Evaluate surfaces before coating — not after problems show up.
  • Understand how prep impacts long-term coating durability and customer satisfaction.

Quality & Production Leadership on the Floor

  • Read and execute customer prints, coating specs, and technical work instructions.
  • Deliver consistent, defect-free finishes while meeting production commitments.
  • Take ownership of your work — start to finish.

Equipment & Shop Professionalism

  • Maintain spray equipment, hoses, pots, and tooling to professional standards.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and production ready.
  • Act like an owner of your workspace and tools.

Safety & Environmental Discipline

  • Follow respirator, PPE, and hazardous material handling requirements without exception.
  • Work safely around solvents, coatings, blasting media, and industrial equipment.
  • Help set the safety standard for the shop floor.

Who Thrives Here

This is for painters who:

  • Understand industrial coatings are a skilled trade
  • Know the difference between “paint on metal” and engineered coating systems
  • Take pride in prep work as much as final finish
  • Can work independently and also elevate the team around them
  • Want long-term stability, not seasonal or job-shop chaos

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Industrial spray experience (airless, pressure pot, plural component a plus)
  • Experience with epoxy, urethane, and specialty coating systems
  • Ability to read technical coating data, prints, and SDS documentation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting mindset
  • Blasting or heavy prep environment experience preferred

Physical & Work Environment

  • Industrial manufacturing shop environment
  • Standing, climbing, lifting, and working around large fabricated components
  • Must meet respirator and safety clearance requirements
  • Be able to work in crouched position at times, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, work in lifts, and stand on concrete floors for long periods as needed to do various job tasks
  • Be able to lift a maximum of 25 lbs. at times as required by job

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary + performance incentives
  • Relocation assistance for qualified candidates
  • Stable and growing industrial customer base
  • Direct visibility with leadership
