Industrial Sanitation Technician

Job Overview

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of equipment, production lines, and facility surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents and methods.
• Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and protective eyewear.
• Follow strict sanitation protocols aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Utilize proper respiratory protection when working with hazardous chemicals or in confined spaces requiring respiratory safety measures.
• Conduct inspections to verify cleanliness levels, identify potential sanitation issues, and document cleaning activities accurately.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of cleaning equipment, including heavy lifting tasks when necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of sanitation activities, chemical usage, and safety compliance for audit purposes.

Skills

• Proven experience in industrial cleaning or janitorial work within food production or processing environments.
• Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents.
• Strong understanding of GMP standards, food safety regulations, and sanitation protocols.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of routine cleaning tasks.
• Basic math skills for measuring chemicals and recording data accurately.
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and techniques for industrial settings.
• Excellent adherence to safety protocols, including PPE use and respiratory protection requirements.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
