Industrial Sewing Machine Operator

Job Type: Full Time (Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts, flexible schedule within factory hours).

Position Description:

Misty Mountain Threadworks is looking for a detail-oriented Industrial Sewing Machine Operator to join our team in crafting high-quality, life-saving climbing harnesses and outdoor equipment. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty sewing equipment with precision, adhere to strict safety and quality standards, and collaborate with a close-knit team right here in the mountains of North Carolina.

Core Responsibilities

• Safely operate industrial sewing machines to assemble climbing harnesses and gear according to technical specifications.
• Inspect finished products and stitching to ensure strict adherence to safety and quality guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with team members to hit weekly production targets.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Work hours

• We offer a moderately flexible work schedule, with the factory opening at 6:30 am and closing at 5:00 pm. You can choose your start and end times, as long as you complete 8 hours of work each day.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Adaptability to changing work conditions.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in manufacturing.
• Previous experience sewing.

Required qualifications:

• Reliable transportation!
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Full-time availability, Monday through Friday.

Weekly production incentives:

• 4-Day Workweek Potential: Weekly production incentive–if team production goals are met by Thursday, the team gets Friday off with pay!

Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays:

• After 1 year of employment: 1 week (40 hours) of PTO.
• After 2 years of employment: 2 weeks (80 hours) of PTO.
• After 5 years of employment: 3 weeks (120 hours) of PTO.
• Additionally, there are 6 paid holidays at Misty Mountain:
• New Years Day (January 1st)
• Memorial Day (Last Monday in May)
• Independence Day (July 4)
• Labor Day (First Monday in September)
• Thanksgiving (Last Thursday in November)
• Christmas (December 25)
• You may switch Christmas for a different religious observation if you so choose.
