Industrial Test Development Engineer | Permanent | £50,000 – £65,000 | Greenwich, London

Do you enjoy building the test systems that other engineers rely on? This is a chance to design and develop hardware and software test benches for high-reliability, technically advanced products, within a growing organisation.

The role

You’ll join a growing organisation as an Industrial Test Development Engineer. This is a test development role rather than a traditional test engineering position. You will design, build and prove the hardware and software test benches used in production, including systems for high-voltage products.

You’ll work closely with Production and Engineering teams, giving hands-on support on the shop floor and making sure test systems are robust, safe and well documented.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop high-voltage test benches, covering both hardware and software
• Install, commission and validate new test systems
• Support Production with hands-on debugging and issue resolution
• Investigate test failures and analyse results to find root causes
• Create and maintain test documentation, and ensure HV safety compliance
• Train manufacturing teams on test systems and support continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

• A degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• At least 2 years’ experience developing hardware and software test rigs
• Strong LabVIEW skills, which are the priority for this role
• Experience with TestStand
• Programming experience in Python and JavaScript; C++ would be useful
• A background in production test development
• A hands-on approach and strong fault-finding skills
• Exposure to high-voltage systems
• The right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this role
