What they need
About the role
Join a team advancing 100% renewable energy. As the Industrialization Engineer for wind turbine assembly at Nordex, you’ll sit within the Production organization and report to the Production Manager. Your mission: lead and participate in local and global production initiatives, stand up new and improved processes across the factory, and keep operations running smoothly through data-driven continuous improvement.
A day in the life
You start by reviewing assembly plans and checking that tools, equipment, and materials are staged to hit the day’s build schedule. You scan production KPIs to spot trends, then connect with operators, supervisors, maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to align on priorities. The morning may include a line walk focused on ergonomics and safety. Midday, you’re facilitating a root cause analysis on a non-conformance and locking in corrective and preventive actions. Later, you finalize a layout optimization with Industrial Engineering and HSE, kick off an audit readiness checklist, and track actions for a capacity uplift project. Throughout, you’re coaching teams, building skills matrices, and enabling cross‑training to keep the lines resilient.
What you’ll do
- Translate assembly plans into concrete requirements; ensure tools, equipment, and resources are available on time for each station and shift.
- Track, analyze, and report production metrics; identify performance gaps and lead improvement countermeasures.
- Drive CI using CAPA to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Provide hands‑on technical support to production teams; cultivate a collaborative, high‑performance shop‑floor culture.
- Manage and contribute to projects that raise efficiency, capacity, and process stability.
- Co‑develop optimized workstation/line layouts with Industrial Engineering, HSE, and partner functions.
- Champion safety; ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Lead/support RCA; define and implement corrective and preventive actions for defects and deviations.
- Assess and mitigate operational risks, including ergonomics and unsafe conditions.
- Support workforce planning through skills matrices and cross‑training programs.
- Prepare for and support internal/customer audits and regulatory/certification inspections.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to solve problems and standardize improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (required); Master’s preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing for wind energy, automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, or industrial products.
- Hands‑on background in assembly/manufacturing operations with proven CI results.
- Process improvement and KPI management experience.
- Root cause analysis and CAPA expertise.
- Track record driving safety and quality initiatives.
- ERP/MES exposure (SAP common); CMMS familiarity.
- Direct shop‑floor support with operators, supervisors, and maintenance.
- Experience in audits, layout changes, and small to mid‑sized projects; CAPEX and layout redesign.
- Comfort with large assemblies and heavy components; shop‑floor (not just desk) engineering.
- Ability to work in shift‑based and dynamic production environments.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical schematics and assembly instructions.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000:2000 is a plus; AS9100 exposure advantageous.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; able to obtain a passport.
- Driving is essential: full valid driver’s license, insurable under company policy; role subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks.

- Proactively identifies and mitigates hazards and ergonomic risks.
- Uses required PPE appropriately (eye protection, hearing protection, steel‑toe boots, hard hats). Avoids loose clothing and jewelry.
- Communicates clearly with teammates and leaders to maintain a safe workplace.
- Speaks and understands English fluently to follow safety instructions and collaborate effectively.
