Position Summary

Crowned Kids Academy is seeking a nurturing, dependable, and attentive Infant Teacher to join our infant classroom team. This position provides responsive, individualized care to infants while supporting their physical, social-emotional, language, cognitive, and developmental growth.

Our infant classroom is about much more than feeding and diapering. Teachers are expected to actively engage infants through developmentally appropriate learning experiences, tummy time, sensory exploration, language development, music, books, movement, and The CKA Experience™ curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, responsive, and attentive care to infants throughout the day.
• Maintain active supervision and required child-to-staff ratios at all times.
• Follow each infant’s individualized feeding, sleeping, diapering, and care schedule.
• Change diapers and complete required hygiene and sanitation procedures.
• Properly prepare, handle, label, and store bottles and infant food according to CKA procedures.
• Implement developmentally appropriate infant curriculum and activities.
• Provide tummy time, sensory activities, music, reading, movement, and supervised exploration.
• Observe children’s development and assist with developmental documentation.
• Complete accurate daily reports for families.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitized, and inspection-ready classroom.
• Follow safe-sleep requirements and all CKA health and safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with parents and guardians.
• Work cooperatively with the Lead Infant Teacher and other classroom staff.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional-development activities.
• Participate in occasional CKA family events, community outreach, and service activities.
• Assist in other classrooms when needed and qualified to do so.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous infant or childcare experience preferred.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred.
• Must meet all Indiana requirements for employment in a licensed childcare center.
• Must be comfortable caring for young infants, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and floor-level interaction.
• Must successfully complete required background checks and training.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Dependability and consistent attendance are essential.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to safely lift and carry infants, sit and work on the floor, bend, kneel, stand, and move throughout the classroom as necessary to supervise and care for children.

Pay: $22.61 - $27.23 per hour
