InfoBeans Technologies - Software Development Engineer - Test

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in test automation, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and cloud-native technologies. The role involves validating Kubernetes-based products and distributed systems, developing automated test frameworks, and ensuring the functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and upgrade readiness of cloud-native solutions.

The ideal candidate should combine strong software development and automation skills with hands-on experience testing Kubernetes environments, APIs, CLI tools, storage, and infrastructure components.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and automation suites for Kubernetes-based products and cloud-native applications.
• Test Kubernetes clusters, workloads, storage integrations, backup and recovery capabilities, and infrastructure components.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and utilities using Python, Go, or other scripting/programming languages.
• Perform API, CLI, functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
• Validate Kubernetes deployments, configuration changes, upgrades, scaling, failover, and recovery scenarios.
• Conduct performance, scalability, stress, reliability, and resilience testing for distributed systems.
• Work with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes Operators to validate containerized applications and platform behavior.
• Test storage and infrastructure integrations involving technologies such as Container Storage Interface (CSI) and OpenShift.
• Troubleshoot test failures across application, container, Kubernetes, operating system, networking, and infrastructure layers.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Development, and DevOps teams to investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and drive issues to closure.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing and release validation.
• Maintain test environments, scripts, test data, and documentation to ensure repeatable and reliable testing.
• Track defects, monitor test coverage, and provide quality status updates to support release-readiness decisions.
• Contribute to test strategy improvements, automation coverage, and overall quality engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 - 10 years of experience in SDET, software test automation, quality engineering, or a related engineering role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Good understanding of Kubernetes architecture, workloads, deployments, services, networking, and cluster operations.
• Strong programming or scripting skills in Python and/or Go.
• Experience with Linux administration, troubleshooting, and shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with API and CLI testing, including test automation.
• Experience performing functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated test execution.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications, containerized environments, or distributed systems.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across software and infrastructure layers.
• Understanding of performance, scalability, reliability, upgrade, and recovery testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Good communication skills and ownership of test quality and defect resolution.
