ICT Engineer III

Salary: $105,000 to $130,000 per year DOE

The role

A leading engineering consultancy with a strong mission-critical and technology infrastructure practice is hiring an ICT Engineer III to join its growing team.

This is a senior design-focused role working across complex mission-critical and data center projects, with responsibility for developing and delivering physical-layer ICT infrastructure including structured cabling, fiber optic systems, network connectivity, and associated telecommunications systems.

You will work closely with clients, project teams, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, taking ownership of technical designs and supporting projects from initial design through construction.

If you have 5+ years of ICT/telecommunications engineering experience, strong mission-critical or data center design experience, and want the flexibility of a fully remote role , this is worth a conversation.

What you will be doing

• Lead the design of ICT and telecommunications systems for data centers, mission-critical, and complex technology facilities
• Develop detailed designs for structured cabling, fiber optic systems, copper infrastructure, network connectivity, and associated physical infrastructure
• Independently develop ICT designs, drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
• Produce and maintain Revit and AutoCAD models and detailed design documentation
• Coordinate ICT designs with electrical, mechanical, architectural, and other engineering disciplines
• Evaluate project requirements and develop practical, technically sound infrastructure solutions
• Coordinate directly with clients, vendors, manufacturers, contractors, and project teams
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and designers
• Support construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site issues, and technical coordination
• Participate in QA/QC and ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, specifications, and client requirements
• Provide technical input and presentations to clients and project stakeholders
• Support projects through design, construction, commissioning, and completion
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high standard of technical delivery

What we need from you

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in ICT, telecommunications, technology systems, or physical network infrastructure design
• Strong experience designing structured cabling and fiber optic systems
• Experience with physical-layer network infrastructure and telecommunications systems
• Strong Revit and AutoCAD experience
• Experience producing detailed construction documents and technical specifications
• Experience working on data center, mission-critical, or other complex infrastructure projects
• Ability to independently develop technical designs and solve complex engineering problems
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Good to have

• Data center / hyperscale / colocation experience
• Experience with large-scale mission-critical facilities
• BICSI certification or relevant BICSI experience
• Experience with telecom rooms, equipment rooms, racks, pathways, cable tray, and physical network infrastructure
• Low-voltage / ELV / technology systems experience
• Construction administration experience
• Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior engineers and designers
• Experience working for an engineering consultancy or multidisciplinary design firm
