Information Security & Network Engineer

Job Summary

Evolve Blue LLC is seeking an experienced Information Security & Network Engineer for a full-time onsite contract engagement in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This position supports a large K–12 technology environment and combines hands-on responsibilities across cybersecurity, network security, enterprise networking, systems infrastructure, vulnerability management, and incident response.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Cisco enterprise networking, firewalls, Windows Server, virtualization, SIEM/EDR technologies, backup and recovery systems, and enterprise wireless environments.

This is a 6–12 month contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time W-2 position.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, maintain, and secure enterprise network infrastructure
• Manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other network security technologies
• Monitor network activity and investigate security incidents
• Perform vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts
• Manage and support SIEM, antivirus, and EDR technologies
• Configure and maintain Cisco Catalyst routers and switches
• Support Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls and other platforms such as Palo Alto, Cisco, or Check Point
• Support Windows Server 2019/2022 environments
• Support VMware, Hyper-V, and related virtualization technologies
• Support enterprise backup and recovery platforms such as Veeam, Cohesity, Rubrik, or Commvault
• Configure and support enterprise wireless technologies including Cisco and Aruba
• Help protect systems from malware, phishing, ransomware, and other threats
• Collaborate with IT leadership and infrastructure teams
• Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity and network security best practices

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT, networking, infrastructure, or cybersecurity
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise LAN/WAN environments
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst routing and switching
• Experience with enterprise firewall technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Experience with Windows Server 2019/2022
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization platforms
• Experience with network security, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and threat prevention
• Familiarity with SIEM and EDR technologies
• Experience supporting enterprise wireless environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
• CCNA, CompTIA Security+, Fortinet, or similar certification
• Fortinet/FortiGate experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Palo Alto or Check Point firewalls
• Experience with Veeam, Cohesity, Rubrik, or Commvault
• Experience in K–12, government, healthcare, or other regulated environments
• Familiarity with FERPA, CIPA, or similar security/privacy requirements

Background Requirements

Because this position supports a K–12 environment, candidates must be able to successfully complete required Pennsylvania criminal background and child-abuse clearances.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
