You will help protect sensitive research, support secure collaboration with strategic partners, and make sure security requirements are translated into clear, practical guidance for the business.
You will be part of imec’s Corporate Security Office and work closely with colleagues in Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as with ICT, business teams, government stakeholders and external security authorities.
Your key responsibilities
In this role, you will combine security governance, risk management, compliance and national security responsibilities. More specifically, you will:
- Translate imec’s security strategy into practical policies, processes and guidance for imec Netherlands.
- Act as the main security liaison between imec Netherlands, the Corporate Security Office, ICT, business teams and external stakeholders.
- Monitor Dutch and European security legislation and translate relevant requirements into concrete actions.
- Perform security risk assessments for applications, technologies, projects and business processes.
- Advise business and ICT stakeholders on risk mitigation, security controls and exception management.
- Support compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, TISAX, CyFun, NIST and other relevant standards.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation, evidence collection and follow-up of findings.
- Coordinate security compliance for government-funded, defence, aerospace and other security-sensitive projects.
- Act as Security Officer for imec Netherlands and coordinate personnel security clearance processes.
- Liaise with relevant Dutch, EU and NATO security authorities when required.
What we do for you
At imec, you will join one of the world’s leading research centers in nanotechnology, working from our offices in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Your expertise will help protect cutting-edge research and enable innovation with real societal impact.
You will become part of an open, international and informal working environment where initiative, ownership and collaboration are encouraged. Through imec.academy, our corporate university, we invest in your technical and personal growth. We also offer a market-appropriate salary, attractive fringe benefits and the opportunity to grow in an international environment at the forefront of technology.
Who you are
You combine solid security expertise with a pragmatic mindset and strong communication skills. You know how to make complex security topics understandable and relevant for different stakeholders.
- At least 5 years of experience in information security, risk management, compliance or security governance.
- Strong knowledge of security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27000 series, TISAX & NIST
- A good understanding of security processes, technologies and architectures.
- The ability to translate technical risks into clear business language.
- Knowledge of Dutch security legislation (e.g. NIS2, CRA)
- Familiarity with the Dutch cybersecurity and national security ecosystem.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Dutch, EU and NATO security clearances.
- Experience in government, defence, aerospace or other security-sensitive environments is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of product security and security clearance processes is a plus.
Your mindset
You are analytical, organized and solution-oriented. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, enjoy working across teams and countries, and feel comfortable acting as a trusted security expert in a dynamic research environment.
