About the Role

We are seeking an Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) to support Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and related security tools within a large enterprise environment. This opportunity is ideal for an early to mid-career cybersecurity professional with hands-on experience in SIEM administration, Linux systems, log management, and security operations.

The selected candidate will focus primarily on SIEM engineering, including platform administration, log ingestion, content development, troubleshooting, and system support across Windows and Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support SIEM platforms and associated security applications.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, reports, correlation rules, queries, and data views.
• Support log onboarding, data normalization, and log flow optimization.
• Troubleshoot SIEM platform issues, log collection problems, and performance concerns.
• Perform system administration activities for servers hosting security applications.
• Utilize Linux command-line tools for routine administration and troubleshooting.
• Assist with upgrades, patching, and lifecycle maintenance of security platforms.
• Apply configuration management and change control best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Provide support for additional security tools and technologies as needed.
• Participate in after-hours, on-call, and maintenance support rotations when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 2+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting or administering SIEM, log management, or security monitoring solutions.
• Hands-on Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, OSI model, enterprise data flow concepts, and log analysis.
• Experience with configuration management and change control processes.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SIEM platforms such as:
• Splunk
• ArcSight
• LogRhythm
• Exabeam
• Similar technologies
• Experience supporting security tools in Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of log parsing, data normalization, filtering, and regular expressions.
• Scripting experience with Shell, Python, or other automation tools.
• Familiarity with security operations, incident response, and threat detection.
• Experience with network security monitoring and event correlation.
• Exposure to NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, or similar frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, Linux+, Network+, or SIEM-related certifications.

Additional Information

• 100% onsite position in Melbourne, FL.
• May require weekend, after-hours, and on-call support.
• Occasional travel may be required for disaster recovery support.
