Information Technology Business Analyst

About the Role

We are hiring an IT Business Analyst on behalf of our client to support a leading bank in Thailand on a strategic technology transformation program.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can effectively bridge business needs and technology delivery . You will work directly with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand current processes, define requirements, analyze data, and stay involved throughout delivery to ensure solutions meet business needs.

We are open to candidates at both Mid-Level (3–5 years) and Senior Level (5–7 years) . The title, scope, and compensation will be aligned with the candidate's experience.

Senior-level candidates will be expected to lead requirements workstreams, act as a primary BA contact for senior stakeholders, and provide guidance to junior analysts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements elicitation through stakeholder interviews, workshops, document reviews, and system analysis.
• Develop a detailed understanding of current-state processes, systems, business requirements, and pain points.
• Translate business needs into clear and testable documentation, including:
• Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
• Functional specifications
• User stories and acceptance criteria
• Use cases
• Map current-state and future-state processes and data flows.
• Identify gaps between business requirements and existing system capabilities.
• Analyze source systems and perform data mapping and reconciliation.
• Write SQL queries to validate assumptions and support integration or data migration activities.
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, including client IT teams, vendors, and developers.
• Clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and help stakeholders work through technical and business trade-offs.
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout delivery.
• Manage and document change requests.
• Provide practical input into solution design, vendor/package evaluation, and implementation planning.
• Own assigned requirements workstreams and ensure deliverables are accurate, well documented, and delivered on time.

Candidate Profile

• 3–7 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or in a closely related role such as Systems Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Product Owner.
• Experience working on technology implementation or transformation programs.
• Consulting or large-scale transformation program experience is a plus.
• Strong hands-on BA experience — comfortable personally writing requirements, mapping data, analyzing systems, and working through edge cases.
• Previous experience in banking or financial services is strongly preferred , including areas such as:
• Core banking
• Payments
• Lending
• Digital banking channels
• Regulatory reporting
• Exposure to Thailand or Southeast Asian financial markets is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies .
• Proficiency with business analysis tools and techniques, including:
• BPMN, Visio, or similar process modeling tools
• Jira, Confluence, or similar requirements/backlog management tools
• Wireframing experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis .
• Strong Excel skills are required.
• Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools are a plus.
• Familiarity with APIs, system integration, and data migration is an advantage.
• Strong stakeholder interviewing and facilitation skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, structured, and unambiguous documentation.
• Fluent English and Thai are required.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• BA certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA are a plus.

Senior-Level Expectations

For candidates with 5–7 years of experience , the role will additionally involve:

• Leading requirements workstreams from initiation through delivery.
• Acting as the primary BA contact for senior client stakeholders.
• Guiding and supporting junior Business Analysts.
• Taking ownership of complex requirements and stakeholder discussions.
• Ensuring requirements are clearly translated into deliverable solutions.

Location & Working Arrangement

• Location: Bangkok, Thailand
• Candidates should be based in Bangkok or willing to relocate.
• Flexibility to work on-site at the client is required.
• Full-time position.
