Information Technology Coordinator

We are seeking an IT Coordinator to support and manage our systems operations in Japan, working closely with management, business teams, and overseas vendors.

AvaTrade Japan operates in the regulated financial services industry, providing retail FX trading services to individual and corporate clients in Japan. As part of a small and dynamic team, you will have broad responsibility and play a key role in connecting our local business with overseas technology partners.

Responsibilities

Vendor Management & Systems Operations:

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the trading platform (MT4/MT5 or equivalent), bridge/aggregator, price feed, and cover-transaction systems.
• Handle specification discussions, incident escalation, and SLA/contract conversations with overseas vendors and liquidity providers in English.
• Manage our third-party outsourcing framework, including vendor selection, periodic evaluation, monitoring, and reporting.

Internal Systems:

• Improve internal systems covering client management, deposits and withdrawals, account opening and eKYC, and reporting.
• Gather requirements from business teams, translate them into specifications, and drive delivery with vendors.
• Handle information security fundamentals, including access rights, log management, and vulnerability response.

System Risk Management:

• Maintain internal rules and procedures aligned with FSA supervisory guidelines and FISC security standards.
• Lead first response and root-cause analysis for system incidents and coordinate preventive measures.
• Support preparation of reports to the regulator and the FFAJ.
• Maintain and test the business continuity plan.

Requirements

Essential

• 3+ years in internal IT, information systems, or an IT coordination role at an operating company.
• Hands-on experience with vendor negotiation, requirements definition, and project management.
• Business-level Japanese and English — written specifications and correspondence, plus spoken negotiation.

Nice to Have

• Experience at an FX broker, securities firm, crypto exchange, or other financial institution.
• Familiarity with MT4/MT5, FIX API, or bridge/aggregator technology (oneZero, PrimeXM, Integral, etc.).
• Knowledge of financial system risk management, FISC security standards, or FSA supervisory guidelines.
• Networking, server, or cloud (AWS) fundamentals.
• Relevant certifications (IT Coordinator, Registered Information Security Specialist, PMP, etc.).
