Information Technology Field Technician

Akkodis is seeking an experienced IT Field Technician to provide hands-on technology support across multiple locations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, troubleshooting, and working directly with users rather than being limited to one narrow area of IT.

The Field IT Technician will support desktops, laptops, peripherals, printers, user accounts, connectivity, phone systems, and Microsoft 365 services while also assisting with hardware deployments and lifecycle management. In addition to supporting the primary territory, this individual will make scheduled visits to satellite locations and periodically travel to other regional sites.

Success in this position requires a broad technical foundation, strong troubleshooting instincts, and the experience to recognize and resolve a variety of hardware, software, network, and access-related issues.

Salary Range: $50,000-60,000/annually, the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver responsive desktop and end-user technical support across assigned locations.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving laptops, desktops, peripherals, and other workplace technology.
• Install, configure, and support Microsoft Office and other business applications.
• Troubleshoot printers, printer drivers, and related hardware.
• Image, configure, deploy, replace, and retire end-user computing equipment.
• Investigate network connectivity problems and provide initial troubleshooting before escalation.
• Support Microsoft 365, including email-related issues.
• Assist users with RingCentral phone services and provide support related to the organization's planned transition from Mitel to RingCentral.
• Administer user access across internal and third-party platforms, including login support, password resets, security permissions, and other access issues.
• Escalate advanced technical problems to Tier II support when appropriate and collaborate with Tier II resources through resolution.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in desktop support, field services, IT support, or a comparable hands-on technical position.
• Practical experience supporting Active Directory and DHCP environments.
• Broad troubleshooting experience spanning hardware, software, user access, peripherals, and connectivity.
• Demonstrated ability to handle hands-on hardware issues, including tasks such as laptop screen replacement.
• Experience diagnosing different types of IT problems and applying solutions based on prior hands-on exposure.
• Ability to work across multiple areas of IT support rather than being limited to a highly specialized or siloed function.
• Availability for rotational travel to additional territory locations approximately every 4 to 6 weeks, including sites in Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia, and North Carolina.
• Clean driving record.
