The Director of IT will combine strategic leadership with a hands-on understanding of modern IT environments. The ideal candidate has experience operating within healthcare, healthcare technology, or another highly regulated industry and understands the security, compliance, and data protection requirements associated with sensitive healthcare information.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the overall IT strategy, roadmap, infrastructure, systems, and day-to-day technology operations across the organization.
- Lead and develop the IT team while establishing clear processes, standards, service levels, and operational priorities.
- Manage the company's identity and access management environment, including Okta, SSO, MFA, user provisioning, and role-based access controls.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, networking, endpoints, devices, collaboration platforms, enterprise applications, and SaaS environments.
- Establish and maintain strong cybersecurity practices across the organization, including endpoint security, vulnerability management, access controls, incident response, and security monitoring.
- Partner closely with Security, Engineering, Product, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and business leadership.
- Ensure technology policies and systems support applicable healthcare security and privacy requirements, including HIPAA and the protection of PHI and other sensitive information.
- Own employee technology lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, equipment, system access, and application provisioning.
- Manage IT vendors, software licenses, contracts, renewals, budgets, and third-party technology relationships.
- Evaluate the existing technology environment and identify opportunities to automate processes, consolidate systems, improve reliability, and reduce operational risk.
- Develop business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and incident response processes.
- Establish IT governance, documentation, asset management, change management, and technology standards.
- Manage IT support operations and ensure employees receive responsive, high-quality technical support.
- Partner with senior leadership on technology planning, budgeting, risk management, and future infrastructure investments.
- Support security audits, compliance reviews, customer assessments, and other technology-related diligence as required.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in IT, infrastructure, systems engineering, or technology operations, including significant leadership experience.
- Previous experience as an IT Director, Head of IT, Senior IT Manager, or similar technology leadership role.
- Experience within healthcare technology, healthcare, digital health, life sciences, or another regulated environment strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management, including Okta, SSO, MFA, and automated provisioning/deprovisioning.
- Experience managing modern cloud and SaaS-based corporate technology environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, endpoint management, network security, access controls, and data protection.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI, security controls, risk management, and compliance requirements associated with healthcare organizations.
- Experience managing enterprise applications such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Jira, ServiceNow, and other corporate SaaS platforms.
- Experience with MDM and endpoint management platforms such as Jamf, Intune, or similar technologies.
- Demonstrated experience building scalable IT processes for a growing organization.
- Experience managing vendors, budgets, contracts, software licensing, and technology procurement.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable getting involved directly when necessary.
Preferred Experience

- Experience supporting distributed, hybrid, or multi-office environments.
- Familiarity with SOC 2 and other security or compliance frameworks.
