The Opportunity

A rapidly growing advanced technology and manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on IT Operations Lead to help scale its Corporate IT function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, IT Operations professional, or technical team lead who enjoys remaining hands-on while taking on increasing leadership responsibility.

The role will primarily support Corporate IT operations at a major headquarters location while partnering with IT teams supporting manufacturing and operational environments.

This is not a purely managerial position. The successful candidate will be expected to troubleshoot complex issues, build automations and integrations, improve IT workflows, mentor technical team members, and help develop the processes required to support a rapidly scaling organization.

What You'll Do

  • Help lead day-to-day Corporate IT operations and establish priorities across support, systems, projects, and escalations.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to IT Technicians, Analysts, and Systems Administrators as the team grows.
  • Build scripting, workflow automation, integrations, and self-service capabilities that reduce repetitive IT work and ticket volume.
  • Analyze IT service data to identify opportunities for automation, documentation, process improvement, and ticket deflection.
  • Build and optimize AI-enabled support workflows and chatbot capabilities.
  • Develop integrations across identity, productivity, collaboration, ITSM, and SaaS platforms.
  • Administer and improve enterprise technologies including Microsoft 365, identity and access management, endpoint/MDM, ITSM, SaaS applications, and related systems.
  • Provide high-touch technical support to executives, senior leadership, and VIP users.
  • Support conference rooms, collaboration environments, live meetings, company events, and enterprise AV technologies.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical escalations and help lead root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, DevOps, Facilities, People Operations, and operational teams.
  • Support IT initiatives across corporate and manufacturing environments.
  • Improve ITSM practices, change management, asset lifecycle management, SLAs, escalation procedures, and operational handoffs.
  • Manage technology vendors, licensing, and related services.
  • Assist with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and developing additional IT team members as the organization expands.
  • Travel periodically to support other U.S. locations and technology initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of professional IT experience.
  • 2+ years of technical leadership, team leadership, management, or ownership of major IT programs.
  • Strong Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, or Corporate IT Operations background.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a corporate headquarters, campus, or similarly complex end-user environment.
  • Hands-on scripting and automation experience using technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, APIs, or comparable tools.
  • Ability to personally build automation rather than solely defining requirements for other technical teams.
  • Experience administering enterprise SaaS, identity, productivity, endpoint, and ITSM platforms.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Experience supporting identity and access management platforms such as Okta or comparable technologies.
  • Experience identifying repetitive support activity and converting it into automation, self-service, documentation, or improved workflows.
  • Strong executive/VIP support experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise conference-room and collaboration technologies.
  • Exposure to technologies such as Crestron, Q-SYS, Logitech, Microsoft Teams Rooms, or comparable AV ecosystems.
  • Experience working in an organization that has scaled rapidly.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with executives, engineers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Torrance, California.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10–20%.
  • Ability to move and install IT and AV equipment as required.

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace, defense, manufacturing, robotics, advanced hardware, or another highly regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting both Corporate IT and manufacturing, production, warehouse, laboratory, or field environments.
  • Prior software engineering, DevOps, or advanced scripting experience.
  • AI-enabled IT support, chatbot, workflow automation, or ticket-deflection experience.
  • Experience with platforms such as Okta, Microsoft 365, Jira, Box, MDM, and enterprise ITSM solutions.
  • Crestron, AVIXA CTS, Q-SYS, or related AV certifications.
  • Familiarity with security or compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST 800-171, or CMMC.
  • Experience helping scale an IT team, service desk, or Corporate IT function during rapid organizational growth.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range is $116,000–$141,000 , plus equity.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, a 401(k), flexible vacation, and relocation assistance for qualifying candidates moving to the Los Angeles area.

Work Authorization

This position supports technology and operations subject to U.S. export-control requirements. Candidates must meet applicable authorization requirements associated with regulated U.S. technology environments.

Robert Half will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.
