About Us
MGC Freight is a tech-powered shipping management platform serving customers across Canada and the US. We're growing our engineering team to support a fast-moving product roadmap.

You'll work closely with our CTO and development team to keep a live production platform reliable, secure and scalable.

What You'll Work On

• Design, build and maintain our cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Manage containerized services and environments (dev, staging, production)
• Set up monitoring, logging and alerting, and respond to production issues
• Manage database operations, backups and disaster recovery for PostgreSQL
• Improve security practices, including access control, secrets management and network configuration
• Work with developers to improve build, release and local development workflows

Our Stack

• Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, GitHub / GitHub Actions
• Backend: Node.js / NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL
• Frontend: React / Next.js

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional DevOps, infrastructure or SRE experience
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, VPC)
• Solid experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipel
• Comfort with Linux, networking basics and shell scripting
• Experience running PostgreSQL in production
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and own infrastructure end-to-end
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, startup-style env

Nice to Have

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation)
• Experience with ECS, Kubernetes or other contai
• Familiarity with Node.js application deployments
• Experience in logistics, e-commerce or fintech
