Infrastructure Engineer

Sthenos AI is the AI developer of EFA Group , building intelligent, mission-ready solutions for defense and aerospace. With deep expertise in Command-and-Control (C2), cyber defense, computer vision, and autonomous systems, we design and deploy secure, field-proven AI that enhances operational efficiency and situational awareness. As part of a leading European defense ecosystem, we bring scalable innovation where it matters most - in the theater of operations. Internally, we are building a unified operations platform: a single system through which the entire company will run its daily work, with AI woven through every workflow. We have validated the concept with a working prototype and are now assembling a small senior team to build the production platform properly, from the ground up.

The Role

Sthenos AI is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain the distributed infrastructure backbone supporting a customer's next-generation platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate the data center infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, virtualization, and GPU systems
• Design and maintain Kubernetes platforms and virtualized environments for large-scale distributed workloads
• Define infrastructure architecture, standards, and hardware configurations to ensure scalability, performance, and resilience
• Manage databases, storage platforms, and infrastructure capacity across all environments
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, operations, and lifecycle management using Infrastructure as Code
• Collaborate with platform vendors, ML engineers, and data scientists while providing technical leadership to the infrastructure team

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing and operating complex infrastructure environments
• Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong expertise in networking, virtualization, and Kubernetes platforms
• Deep knowledge of Linux systems, server hardware, storage technologies, and distributed infrastructure
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, object storage, and high-availability architectures
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, monitoring, and DevOps practices
