Infrastructure Maintenance Person

Beacon Minerals is entering an exciting phase of growth across our Goldfields Operations, with mining commencing at our cornerstone Iguana deposit. Our extensive tenure position across the Ida region includes the Geko Project, located 30km northwest of Coolgardie, and the Jaurdi Project, home to our 850,000tpa gold processing facility.

We are looking for a skilled Infrastructure Maintenance Person to assist our maintenance department in maintaining our site Village, general infrastructure and associated recreational spaces. Job responsibilities will include the fabrication, refurbishment, maintenance and upkeep of site facilities, resident accommodation blocks, associated infrastructure and maintaining other ad hoc aspects of our site equipment/assets.

Typical Duties include but are not limited to:

• Fabrication of shelters, walkway covering, carports, footings, transportable building assembly, etc.
• Inspect infrastructure to identify problems with buildings, mechanical failure or breakdowns
• Respond to Village Supervisor requests for maintenance services, and completing required works from periodic/scheduled preventative maintenance work orders (i.e. air/water filtration systems, building repairs, installations, troubleshooting, etc)
• Be experienced in carpentry, plumbing, interior and exterior property maintenance and appliance installation
• Inspect/monitor/test performance of in-unit appliances, equipment fault finding such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens and coffee makers, etc.
• General housekeeping activities including gardening and weeding where required.
• Perform physical labour with limited or no supervision, often exposed to the elements. As such it is an inherent requirement that the suitable candidate have both physical and mental fitness and be prepared to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol testing.
• Must have problem solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and possess knowledge of how to operate tools and equipment to manufacturer’s specifications safely.

Essential:

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Carpentry Trades Person, or at least 5 years’ experience in a related trade role in the building and construction industry or similar.
• Have unlimited rights to work in Australia
• Previous experience in a similar position servicing a commercial facility.
• Ability to work in a safe manner as not to cause self-injury or injury to others and an understanding of WHS and Environmental requirements.
• C-Class Drivers Licence (HR highly regarded)
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to liaise with different levels and departments.
• Strong consistent work ethic and proactive attitude to safety
• Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, manuals, instructions and assigned work orders
• NPC

Desirable:

• Previous Mine Site experience
• HRWL including forklift
• Microsoft Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word and some site-specific cloud-based platforms
