Within the Project Development department, approximately 30 project managers work on a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure and development projects. These include new industrial sites, energy transition initiatives, and essential infrastructure developments.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Developer / Project Manager with expertise in infrastructure development, particularly hydraulic engineering, shore power, cables, and pipelines.

Your role:

As a Senior Project Developer / Project Manager, you will take ownership of multiple infrastructure projects from initial concept through development and final delivery. Combining commercial insight, technical expertise, and strong leadership, you will ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and successfully.

Your key responsibilities:

• Project development: Assess commercial feasibility, explore alternative solutions, engage with customers and stakeholders, and prepare investment proposals for decision-making.
• Project management: Oversee projects throughout their lifecycle, managing technical and commercial aspects, business cases, budgets, agreements, contracts, and project delivery.
• Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet agreed objectives.
• Team leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams of specialists and professionals, promoting effective collaboration, accountability, and results.
• Safety and sustainability: Ensure projects are developed and delivered responsibly, with a strong focus on safety, environmental management, and quality.
• Strategic collaboration: Coordinate with other teams and projects to ensure alignment and maximise opportunities.
• Knowledge sharing: Contribute to continuous improvement in project development and project management practices.

You will be accountable to the Project Board and work within an established project management framework based on PRINCE2 principles.

What we're looking for:

We are seeking a commercially minded, proactive, and results-oriented professional who can manage complex infrastructure projects and bring diverse stakeholders together.

Your qualifications and experience:

• At least 6+ years of experience in project development and project delivery.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams of specialists and professionals.
• Demonstrable knowledge of commercial management, environmental management, project management, and project safety.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to balance technical requirements, commercial objectives, and project risks while delivering results.
• An affinity with the port, logistics, and industrial sectors, including the ability to translate industry developments and innovations into practical projects.
• University-level working and thinking capability.
• A valid VCA-VOL certificate or willingness to obtain one within three months of starting.

The following experience is an advantage:

• Container logistics and/or breakbulk.
• Shore power infrastructure.
• Cables and pipelines.
• Hydraulic engineering and other infrastructure development projects.
