JOB VACANCY: Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operator

About the Role

A growing plastic manufacturing company in Lagos urgently needs an experienced Injection Molding Machine Operator to run production machines, maintain output quality, and keep the production line running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plastic injection molding machines during production runs
• Set up machines and adjust parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, injection speed) to meet product specifications
• Load raw materials (resin, masterbatch, additives) and manage material feed
• Inspect finished products for defects such as flash, short shots, warping, sink marks, and discoloration
• Carry out mould changes and assist with mould setup
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance
• Report faults, breakdowns, and quality issues to the Production Supervisor promptly
• Keep accurate production records (output, rejects, downtime)
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
• Maintain a clean and organised work area

Requirements

• OND/NDE, SSCE, or equivalent (a technical qualification is an advantage)
• Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience operating injection molding machines
• Good understanding of plastic materials and molding processes
• Ability to read basic job specifications and quality standards
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Willingness to work shifts, including overtime when production demands
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods

Added Advantage

• Experience with mould changing and machine setup
• Knowledge of different machine brands (e.g., Haitian, Chen Hsong, Engel)
• Experience in a high-volume production environment
