Ink Room Technician

About the role

To do colour matching for new requirement and to prepare, mix, maintain, and supply printing ink according to production requirements while ensuring the correct colour, quality, and quantity. The technician is also responsible for maintaining ink-room equipment, cleanliness, safety, and proper documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Do colour matching for new job or sample as per requested by customer
• Prepare and mix inks according to production orders, colour specifications, and approved formulas
• Match and adjust ink colours according to required colour standards
• Check ink shade, and other required specifications before supplying to production
• Weigh and measure ink, solvents, additives, and other materials accurately
• Operate and maintain ink mixing and related equipment safely
• Supply the correct ink to the production machine according to job requirements
• Monitor ink usage during production and prepare additional ink when required
• Record ink batches, formulas, quantities, adjustments, and usage accurately
• Identify and report colour or ink-quality problems to the Ink Room Section Leader

About you

• Experience in an ink room, printing, packaging, or manufacturing environment is an advantage
• Experience in IMaestro software and ERP is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of ink mixing and colour matching is preferred
• Able to use weighing scales, mixing equipment, and basic measuring instruments
• Good attention to detail, especially with colour and measurements
• Able to follow formulas, work instructions, and safety procedures accurately
• Physically fit and able to handle ink containers and materials
• Responsible, disciplined, and able to work as part of a team
• Willing to work shifts and overtime when required
