Join our dedicated team as an Inmate Transport Officer, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient movement of incarcerated individuals within local correctional facilities and to external locations such as court appearances, medical appointments, and transfer centers. You will be responsible for supervising inmates during transport, adhering strictly to correctional policies, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Duties

• Safely escort and supervise inmates during transportation to hospitals, including courts, medical facilities, and other designated sites.
• Maintain accurate records of inmate movements, transport logs, and incident reports using proper records management procedures.
• Ensure compliance with correctional policies, security protocols, and legal requirements throughout all stages of transport.
• Communicate effectively with law enforcement agencies, detention staff, and external partners to coordinate transportation schedules and address any issues that arise.
• Manage conflict situations with professionalism using conflict management techniques; de-escalate tensions among inmates or staff as needed.
• Provide first aid or CPR in emergency situations following established protocols; respond swiftly to medical emergencies involving inmates or staff.
• Supervise inmate behavior during transit to prevent escapes or disturbances; utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage cooperation when appropriate.
• Ensure all transport activities adhere strictly to juvenile justice system guidelines when transporting youth offenders; uphold correctional policy compliance at all times.

Skills

• Proven experience working with incarcerated individuals in correctional settings or related social work roles.
• Experience with Mental Health
• Excellent conflict management skills combined with cultural competency to handle diverse populations sensitively.
• Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, firearms handling in law enforcement contexts, and security best practices.

Qualifications

Must be 21

Clean driving record

Current or prior law enforcement and orsecurity work

No criminal history including misdemeanor and felony charges. exceptions made for DUIs longer than 10 years.

Pay: $150.00 per day
