Innovation Specialist

ABB Innovation is looking for a highly proactive and entrepreneurial Innovation

Specialist to join our team and take ownership of our startup-focused activities.

This is not a traditional coordination or event management role.

The person joining us will become a key owner of the day-to-day startup stream, working

directly with startups, executing innovation programs, identifying new opportunities, and facilitating

collaboration between startups and ABB business units.

You will have significant ownership from strategy execution to day-to-day delivery and results.

What will you do?

• Take a key role in managing ABB Innovation's startup portfolio

• Build and maintain strong relationships with startups and track their progress and needs

• Plan and execute incubation, acceleration, hackathon and startup challenge programs

• Research, assess and engage promising startups

• Identify potential use cases and collaboration opportunities between startups and ABB

• Coordinate startup–business collaborations and POCs

• Work with mentors, experts, partners and other stakeholders

• Track startup portfolio KPIs, progress and outcomes

• Prepare reports and presentations for management

• Monitor startup ecosystem trends, emerging technologies and potential partners

• Continuously improve existing processes and initiate new ideas and initiatives

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate:

• Has 2–4 years of professional experience

• Has experience in startups, innovation, business development, product, consulting,

accelerators/incubators or a related field

• Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership

• Takes initiative instead of waiting for instructions

• Has strong execution and project management skills

• Is comfortable communicating and working with different stakeholders

• Understands key startup and business concepts such as business models, products, customers

and startup development

• Thinks in a structured way and can turn complex problems into clear action plans

• Is analytical and comfortable working with data and KPIs

• Has strong communication skills in English and Azerbaijani

• Is curious, proactive and learns new topics quickly
