Inside Sales

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Inside Sales Account Representative to join our team in the industrial distribution sector, specializing in hose, gasket, conveyor belting and related products. The Inside Sales Account Representative manages the day-to-day execution of assigned customer accounts. The role handles quoting, order entry, sourcing, purchasing, inventory coordination, customer communication, and Prophet 21 documentation. Outside Sales owns the primary customer relationship and strategic growth; Inside Sales is the trusted in-house contact who keeps business moving accurately and responsively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Orders and followthrough: Enter accurate orders in Prophet 21, prioritize work by customer urgency and business impact, and follow orders through fulfillment. Keep customers informed of backorders, delays, and delivery changes.
• Quoting and pricing: Prepare accurate, timely quotes; price most routine business independently; protect gross margin; follow up open quotes and convert approved quotes to orders.
• Customer service and Outside Sales coordination: Serve assigned accounts as the primary inhouse contact, respond promptly, solve routine issues, maintain service continuity, and involve Outside Sales when relationshipowner involvement is needed.
• Sales support: Support revenue through quote followup, reorder awareness, and appropriate product or quantity recommendations. Outside Sales owns strategic account growth.
• Sourcing and purchasing: Independently source specialorder items, select suppliers, place purchase orders, and track them through receipt or delivery.
• Inventory and production coordination: Maintain adequate inventory for stockassurance and holdandrelease commitments. Monitor demand, communicate production needs, and recommend priorities when capacity is constrained.
• Account records: Keep contacts, shipto information, notes, document links, and account changes current in Prophet 21.
• Issue resolution and ownership: Resolve routine pricing, availability, delivery, order, and return issues. Address mistakes quickly, correct them, and prevent recurrence.
• Team support: Provide occasional frontcounter and backup account coverage, help onboard newer team members, and support broader business needs when required.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong accuracy, judgment, followthrough, and ability to learn quickly. A specific number of years of experience is not required.
• Comfort learning ERP/orderentry systems and business technology; Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
• Clear, professional phone and written communication.
• Ability and willingness to learn industrial products, specifications, materials, dimensions, and crossreferences.
